VegNews just published a list of vegan Halloween candies. So no, being vegan is NOT an excuse to hand out pencils, stickers, or other non-candy items to your neighborhood trick-or-treaters. If you want to be like that, don’t blame it on veganism.
Here are just a few of the vegan candies listed:
- Charms Blow Pops (website)
- Cracker Jack (website)
- Dum-Dums (website)
- Go Max Go candy bars (website)
- Hubba Bubba bubblegum (website)
- Now and Later (website)
- Sour Patch Kids (website)
- Twizzlers (website)
Alternatively, you could be like the nice, little old lady on my block when I was a kid. She handed out raisins. I still rang her doorbell and received my Halloween raisins while my friends skipped her house and the older kids egged her house. What can I say? I like raisins.
