Vegas Veg, a grassroots group of vegetarians and vegans, is holding a vegan bake sale to “raise dough” for the victims of the earthquake and tsunami in Japan.
The bake sale will take place on Sunday, March 27th from 12pm until 4pm at Atomic #7, an ice cream parlor in the Henderson area that creates ice cream to order, including all sorts of vegan ice creams made from almond milk, soy milk, or coconut milk.
In the coming months, there will be a number of vegan bake sales, some of which will also be raising money for Japan. That’s because the Worldwide Vegan Bake Sale will be occurring. The worldwide event is organized by Compassion for Animals, which says this about vegan bake sales:
It’s an easy and enjoyable way to raise funds, and to raise awareness about food that is delicious and satisfying but does not involve exploiting or mass-killing animals.
Their website has links to over a thousand vegan baked good recipes. Although the Vegas Veg vegan bake sale will contain mostly baked goods, there may also be some raw treats as well.
If you’re in the Vegas area this coming weekend, please stop by the vegan bake sale and get yourself delicious goodies for a good cause!
And PLEASE spread the word! You can print out the flyer here: http://files.meetup.com/831407/Japan-bake-sale-flyer.pdf
