Vegan Meal On Biggest Loser

VegNews reports:

Bob Harper, vegan and trainer for NBC’s The Biggest Loser, will serve a vegan meal to the show’s contestants on the October 12 episode. The meal will take place at Harper’s home, where chef Curtis Stone will also give a lesson in healthy desserts.

Harper says he went vegan to lower his cholesterol and clear his head. His cholesterol was “genetically high” yet dropped over 100 points after he went vegan.

In another interview he said:

“it wasn’t until I read T. Colin Campbell’s The China Study that my life absolutely changed. And bringing in the connection of ‘you are what you eat,’ that old adage our mothers have always taught us, it just started to make even more sense.” [...]

“yes, our bodies need protein, but we don’t need as much as all these websites out there tell us that we do. And there are definitely ways to get all your nutrients within a plant-based diet.”

Here’s the Biggest Loser episode. (The vegan food starts around 63:24):
