The graph below illustrates the sad fact that farmed animals are just babies when they’re slaughtered.
Farmed animals live short lives that are literally filled with suffering. It’s cruel, it’s wasteful, and it’s wrong to eat these babies.

The average age at which pigs are slaughtered is 6-8 months but their natural life span is about 10-12 years. Turkeys are killed at just 4-5 months of age in animal agribusiness but wild ones can live up to 15 years. Dairy cows are usually killed when they’re about 4 years old but they could easily live 15-20 years if given the chance. Beef cattle could live just as long but are salughtered at just 18 months. Chickens raised for meat are killed at merely 5-7 weeks of age but like turkeys could live much longer, up to 8 years. The list goes on and on.
