I really like this article. So true... there is always enough time to do the right thing.

However, the feminist in me wanted to hear about the historic female vegetarians and animal advocates.

This is the best and most succinct article on the founders of anti-cruelty to non-humans I have ever read. My library is replete with books by almost all of these famous men. When I was 18..53 years ago, after reading the writings of Leo Tolstoy and Albert Schweitzer I registered as a contientious objector at the time of draft enrollment. I was the first ever in my county to take such a stance. I read that we become like that which we worship. Well, short of worship, I greatly admire the workings of the minds of these famous men and have ever sought to embody their ideals into my Veganism. Thanks for this most excellent article.
