vegan: person who seeks to exclude the use of animals for food, clothing, or any other purpose.
soapbox: platform used to make impromptu or unofficial public speeches.
I like the idea of putting animal exploitation right in people’s faces. I couldn’t tell from the website, but from the trailer it seemed like he’s only focusing on fur. I’m not a big fan of splitting animal exploitation into single issues (fur, factory farming, vivisection etc.). In this case if you’re only talking about fur, then your goal is for people to give up fur, but then they feel like they’re being good to animals, while continuing to eat meat, drink milk and wear leather.
I think you can only make a coherent case if you talk about animal rights as one issue.
I don’t have a problem with “single issue” campaigns… I think any rational person who can understand the essential wrong in violating one species… Is more apt to grasp that the exploitation all connects to all species.
Some are impassioned to save horses, others may run a rescue for cats and dogs, others may rehab injured birds, or campaign for the end of vivisection… If their mission and platform is based in giving ALL animals equal respect and “rights” – I don’t think it’s a problem to highlight specific instances of abuse.

The Witness is not just about fur.

We all come here through different paths… For me it was the circus – For others it may be the hunting of wolves… As long as the link to *all* animals is made – The awareness becomes a good thing.
