New Cooking Show: The Veg Edge
There’s a rumor going around that the Cooking Channel is airing a brand new show about vegetarian and vegan cooking called The Veg Edge.
However, the website link doesn’t work and the show isn’t listed in the normal listings.
The show is listed, however, in the episode guide for Thursday, December 9, 2010 at 9pm EST. That’s where the show’s described as “unearthing a new breed of vegetarians. From a punk rock vegan in LA to vegetable-loving firemen in the heart of Texas, to a kick boxing chef who serves up meatless Mondays at his high-end NYC restaurant.” See for yourself:

The program’s listed recipe links work, though, so it’s probably for real:
- Arugula Salad with Toasted Pine Nuts and Fresh Grapefruit in a Citrus Agave Vinaigrette
- Chocolate Mousse served in Edible Chocolate Dessert Cups with Raspberry Sauce
- Curried Coconut Vegetable Noodle Soup
- Fettuccine Alfredo with Shiitake Mushrooms, Kale, and Sun-dried Tomatoes
- Goldrich Apricot Fig Torte with Coconut Caramel Ice Cream
- Heavy Metal Vegan Sushi
- Kale, Lemon and Cilantro Sandwich
- Miso Magda Zucchini Gratin
- Native Bowl’s Couch Bowl
- Purslane, Pickled Lapin Cherry, Shaved Fennel and Roasted Chioggia Beet Salad with Ginger-Pineapple Sage-Tahini Dressing
- Rip’s Big Bowl
- Roasted Cauliflower, Smoked Cherry Chile Cashew Cheese Basil-Mung Bean Crepe
- Zucchini Pasta
If you can, tune in to this premier episode of Veg Edge! It airs: Thursday, December 9, 2010 at 9pm EST!

Looks interesting definitely worth a look if its on
Watched it–loved it. I have a 12-year-old daughter who has expressed a desire to be a vegetarian…NOT as a social commentary but simply because she prefers veggies and fruits to meats and dairy. Although I would like to be fully supportive, I don’t feel I am knowledgeable enough to cook a vegetarian diet sufficient for a growing girl. This show has actually made me think it could be quite easy, and I’m even considering it for myself!

The show was pretty interesting for someone who just became a vegatarian. I’m looking forward to future episodes
