Ten Books For Kids
Super Vegan has a list. This list is for parents of vegan children. It’s a list of ten books for veg kids.
“Vegan kids especially need books that affirm their values and allow them to explore issues around human-animal relations that most cultural artifacts — and other children in your vegan child’s world — tend to overlook. Books are one way adults can support the vegan children in their lives while creating opportunities to spend time together. Here are a few titles to get you started. “
After you check out their list, perhaps you’ll want to browse the children’s section in our Amazon store >>

Books that help kids connect with animals and affirm their choice of not eating them are one of the best ways to support our kids. My husband and I wrote the new book “The Complete Idiot’s Guide to Vegan Eating for Kids” and we included a list of our favorite veg-positive kids books and movies. Kids need all the support they can get in a society that often makes them feel weird or strange for their meat-free choices. http://www.vegmoms.com.
What about “That’s Why We Don’t Eat Animals”… That is an AMAZING book!
I just happened upon this entry. I do NOT have a book that affirms being vegan for kids. But it occurred to me that I wonder (and I don’t know) if that in any way affects friendships, and realized a book I’ve come across and that is a book on friendship might be useful. The book is “Sewing a Friendship” and was written by a 10-year-old. Four friends break out a bit and include a new girl, one who’s outside “their” circle. To me it is about including people, making new friends and seeing what happens. Kids can do remarkable things when they set their minds to it.
And I’m going to take a look at the “Why We Don’t Eat Animals” book — have a vegan daughter, myself.
