Stop Eating Animals

Typical omnivore/meat-eater/animal-eater/anti-animal person/non-vegan:
“I do not care what you do with your life, why do you care what I do with mine?”
My vegan response:
Be better than your ego. Veganism is not about you.
This isn’t about you and your habits, it’s about sentient beings. Vegans don’t want to control non-vegans. We just want them to stop using and abusing animals. I’m not telling you to go vegan because I want to control you, I’m telling you to go vegan because I want to save lives.
- I’m telling you to go vegan because I want to stop animal cruelty.
- I’m telling you to go vegan because I want to slow or stop climate change.
- I’m telling you to go vegan because I want to spare you heart disease, diabetes, cancer and other diseases of affluence/ diseases of excessive meat consumption.
- I’m telling you to go vegan because it’s the right thing to do.
If you were torturing animals on the street, I’d tell you to stop. If you were killing animals in your backyard, I’d tell you to stop. If you were eating poison I’d tell you to stop. If you were littering, I’d tell you to stop. If you were polluting the water, I’d tell you to stop. I’d tell you to stop because stopping is the right thing to do.
It’s not about controlling you. It’s not about telling you how to live your life. It’s not about pressuring you or forcing you to do something. It’s about saving animals’ lives.
Stop eating animals, NOW!

Become Vegan, think about the future, think about what if you where bread just so you can be food to someone and while you live you will live horrible short life. Stop eating and torturing animals.
I hope this page is satirical, because you claim “It’s not about telling you how to live your life. It’s not about pressuring you” and then start every following sentence with the phrase “I’m telling you to go vegan because [insert reason]” I totally support the movement because as you said “Veganism is not about you… it’s about sentient beings”. It is a personal choice to not feed money into franchises that slaughter animals. A lot of people who are vegan also practice ego-vegan-ism, they do not vocalize their choice nor try to convince others to support their cause. If you really believed in ego-vegan-ism, then you would not stereotype and generalize people as “Typical omnivore/meat-eater/animal-eater/anti-animal person/non-vegan” and “vegan”. You state “my vegan response [is]:” but why does it have to be your vegan response, why not just *your* response. Please stop labeling yourself as a vegan, remember your own words “Be better than your ego. Veganism is not about you”. There is truth in this statement, but sometimes people get lost. If this was a satirical statement against the hypocrisy of some vegans then you were completely successful, but as a animal-lover I ask that you do not merely file this message into your trash-bin, but instead really think about it. Please think about editing your message so that it is logical and not a mere soap-box rant because you really do make some great points.
Sarah, you do realize the name of this website is “Vegan Soapbox.”
I’m not sure what your religious beliefs are, and I wont judge, hell, I probably won’t even check back to see if you responded to this. But, I’m a christian man and that means, to me, that all animals are food. God put animals on the earth for food…plain and simple. Pick apart every word if you wish, but that’s my belief, and I’m sticking to it. :]
