Sponsor An Animal
Matt asked,
“I wonder if there are any no-kill dog and cat shelters that offer ‘sponsorship’ opportunities for people who want to provide money to care for an animal but don’t have the means, or the space, to adopt them.”
There are!
Best Friends offers sponsorships for cats and dogs and other animals like bunnies. Bunnies, hello? Easter is right around the corner! Don’t buy a bunny, sponsor one! Makes a great gift, hint, hint.

ms.jared, hey that’s cool. They offer sponsorships for only $15/ month. For example, Ginger needs a sponsor:

I know there are lots of us small rescues out there that would love to have someone sponsor an animal. I am run a small rescue but also work full time but never seem to have the time to set something up like this. I know lots of others are the same way. We don’t have the resources to seek help but really need it, nevertheless. I suggest that you find a local rescue group and offer to sponsor an animal, will help animals in your own community and then you could even actually visit the animal you help support!
By the way, rabbit rescues are famously underfunded, help a bunny today by finding a house rabbit chapter in your area!
Maple Farm Sanctuary is currently in great need for donations to feed and provide bedding and medical care for the wonderful animals in their care:

Cheri and Jim Vandersluis are in the early stages of setting up this sanctuary, after a long journey of conscience that began with them closing their dairy goat operation, then transitioning to a vegan way of life, and eventually, creating a loving, lifelong home for rescued farm animals in need. Maple Farm Sanctuary currently cares for about 80 animals, almost half of whom are special needs cases who require extra time, attention and medical care. Please consider helping them out. Even small donations make a big difference!
I will definatly sponcer a bunny for eatser- and recorment doing so!

From their FAQ page:
1. Where do the residents at Tabby’s Place come from?
Since the mission of Tabby’s Place is to serve as a refuge of last resort for cats, we only accept cats that are in hopeless situations. A cat scheduled to be euthanized at a shelter is in an inarguably hopeless situation. For this reason, the majority of cats at Tabby’s Place come from other shelters which, of necessity, must euthanize some cats.
Awwww… Mrs. Jinx: http://www.tabbysplace.org/SN_page.php?id=701
“She’s a lovely lady, too, raven-black and silky with oh-so-serious green eyes. Sit with Mrs. Jinx quietly for a few minutes, and you’ll discover that her loveliest attribute is her personality. [...]
Mrs. Jinx has stomatitis, an auto immune disease of the gums and lining of the mouth and throat. The exact cause is unknown, and the disease causes a cat to become allergic to the plaque on her own teeth. Stomatitis can be extremely painful. Fortunately, Mrs. Jinx’s stomatitis is currently being controlled with a steroid medication, which reduces the inflammation in her mouth. If, at some time in the future, her stomatitis worsens, she may need to have most or all of her teeth removed”
