Spark People has an article out right now called
“15 Ways to Save Big Bucks on Healthy Groceries.”

I had planned on veganizing the list, but lo and behold I didn’t have to!

Check out number 10:

The other 14 ideas to save money while food shopping were simple things:

8. Buy in bulk.

As I was reading, I noticed that I do a lot of these money-saving things already, partially because I’m a vegan. For example, because so much processed food is not vegan (and not healthy) I try to avoid it and stick to the unprocessed produce section mostly. This can wind up saving a lot of money but that’s not why I do it. I do it simply because reading labels is time-consuming and disheartening. Another example: I find myself buying in bulk simply because I’m not sure the the grocery store will continue to carry XYZ vegan item. So I buy as much as I can before they discontinue the product sale.

Is there anything you do at the grocery store that you do for vegan reasons that has the side benefit of helping you save money, too?
