Resolutions, Better Late Than Never

Resolutions, Better Late Than Never

Dear Colleagues:

Let’s make the rest of 2010 better than 2009.

Let’s start by doing the following:

  • Whenever we criticize an animal advocate, let’s do so constructively. Let’s offer specific alternatives.
  • Whenever we say anything negative about the animal movement, let’s say two positive things about the animal movement.
  • When we like some activism that someone has done, let’s a) tell them we like it and/or b) tell someone else that we like it.
  • Thank you.

    1. Thank you for posting this! I would add: Please do NOT criticize each other at all! We are already hated by much of the world, humiliated, harrassed, many of us have lost jobs and significant others because of our beliefs and activism. We need to STICK TOGETHER. We are stronger that way. I’ve said this many times–the divisiveness needs to stop! We can come together regardless of our level of involvement in the AR/vegan movement.

I wish people would put their egos aside and think about the animals FIRST, their pride second. I’ve been doing this a long time and have seen so many come and go. Many are disillusioned by the infighting and cliques in the movement. Let’s not forget who they are fighting for.

IT’S ALL ABOUT THE ANIMALS–NOT ABOUT YOU!!!

Thanks again for writing this. We need to be reminded and refocused.

    2. I totally agree! I’m not into casting an negative stone towards anyone’s advocacy. No “one message” is suited to everyone. There’s plenty of room in the choir for everyone’s voice to be appreciated! ;)
