Dear Oprah,
A few weeks ago you did a show about puppymills. You said puppymill dogs are treated like livestock. You were right about that. And that’s horrible for dogs.
But it’s also horrible for livestock. Current animal agricultural practices are extremely cruel.

Please do a show about current animal agriculture including battery cages, gestation crates, veal crates, forced feeding, downed animals, and slaughterhouses.
You and your audience may discover that the routine practices of American animal agriculture are cruel to animals, cruel to the environment, cruel to laborers, and cruel to consumers.

I believe that slaughter houses should be run as humanely as possible, but to propose that they be eliminated is totally un-realistic. These people who are so concerned about treatment of animals should lend their efforts to caring for starving, brutalized masses of people in many parts of the world. {Africa, Asia, etc.}
