Nutty Pâté Recipe

Nutty Pâté Recipe

Traditionally, pâté is a mixture of meat and fat in a spreadable paste, but that sounds disgusting. A raw vegan pâté made from nuts is so much more appealing. A nut pâté is a wonderful alternative to mayonnaise in a sandwich. It’s a great spread for crackers or veggies. It’s super healthy and it’s very easy to prepare.

Find raw nuts at your local grocery or health food store. Soak them in water overnight, drain, and rinse before using in this recipe. That will make them soft enough to blend and it will activate them, turning them “live.”

Ingredients

  • 1 cup soaked raw almonds
  • 1/2 cup soaked raw sunflower seeds
  • 3 green onions
  • 3 carrots
  • 3 stalks of celery
  • salt and pepper to taste
  • 2-4 tablespoons lemon juice

Directions

  1. Put everything except the salt and pepper in a food processor and blend. It’ll take a few minutes, and you’ll have to scrape the food processor sides often, but eventually it will have an even consistency that you can spread on crackers, bread, or veggies.
  2. Add some salt and pepper, blend, taste. Adjust as needed.
  3. Serve and enjoy!
