Must Have Kitchen Utensils
At the Engine 2 Academy, where they promote a low fat plant-based diet to improve your health, they suggest some kitchen tools that are “must-haves.” Here’s the list:
Kitchen Utensils
Baking Sheets/Pans/Casserole Dish
Blender/Cuisinart
Chopping/paring knives
Cutting board
Colander and Steamer
Non-stick pans/lids
Storage Containers (Pyrex, Tupperware, Ziploc bags)
What are your vegan kitchen tool must-haves?

Microplane! And I love my garlic press too, and cast iron pan – and with no meat germs I’m perfectly comfortable with the no soap and water thing.
Food processor for sure, so I can make all those delicious dips and spreads.
Everything on the list, plus a bread machine and food processor.

A wok (preferably electric to minimize need for added oil/fat) and crockpot are at the top of my list, followed by a steamer.
Stir-fries, stews, sauces, casseroles, pasta dishes, soups, grains, beverages, desserts, and appetizers, are all covered with just those three utensils.
FYI, Mark (bread machine would be next!)
Mark, why would an electric wok minimize the need for added oil? I have a nonstick wok that’s good, but a little small for more than one person. Should I consider an electric wok?
