He also wanted beer and cash. It’s a literal body for body trade:
“Police have arrested a Greenfield man for allegedly arranging to sell his 14-year-old daughter into marriage in exchange for $16,000, 100 cases of beer and several cases of meat.”

When I first saw the post title, I misinterpreted it to mean that a man sold his daughter for slaughter – for meat. Sadder still, I didn’t find it beyond the realm of belief.
But yeah, what an awful story.
