They love when I give them their "yummy food"! I make it from Dr Pitcairn's book New Complete Guide to Natural Health for Dogs and Cats. There are a few recipes for vegetarian meals, I just omit the dairy. They also eat Natural Balance Vegetarian (Vegan actually) and love it, esp the canned food. My 3 dogs are vegan. I've heard of many cats who are vegan and are fine, but for now I'm going to err on the side of caution. Until the Association of Veterinarians for Animal Rights or my own veterinarian approves or recommends vegan catfood, I'm going to keep the cats on nonvegan catfood. The dogs, however, are completely fine on a primarily vegan diet. That’s good to know. I’ve heard of many cats who are vegan and are fine, but for now I’m going to err on the side of caution. It is a hot topic but, like my dog pal, I'm convinced both cats and dogs can thrive on a properly prepared vegan diet.
