IBuyStrays.com Doesn’t Buy Pets

IBuyStrays.com is a hoax website that claims to buy your unwanted pets and neighborhood stray animals and use them in laboratories. While this activity does in fact happen, ibuystrays.com is not an actual animal buyer, dealer, or “buncher.” The website is just a joke.

If the site bothers you, do something about it.

You probably should not send a letter to the email address listed on the website unless you do so from an anonymous email account. You never know what they might do with your email address. It’s possible they could be collecting email addresses to sell to another organization. The website has no privacy guarantee or legal terms available.

However, you can notify Google Adsense and ask them to pull their ads. Follow the complaint process at the Adsense site. Or do it from ibuystrays.com, here’s how:

  1. From ibuystrays.com click on the part of the ad that says “ads by Google” and when a new Google page loads, click on the bottom portion that says “Send Google your thoughts on the site or the ads you just saw”.
  2. Choose “Report a Violation” and check the box for “issues with the website.”
  3. Lastly, choose “site violates Google policies” and list the specific policies you think it violates from this adsense policy list or the webmaster guidelines.

For example, you could write:

“I believe the website, ibuystrays.com violates the following google adsense terms: It seems to have ‘Deceptive or manipulative content…’ because the website pretends to be something it is not. It is a hoax. It appears to have ‘content that is illegal, promotes illegal activity, or infringes on the legal rights of others’ because the site claims to buy stray animals for medical testing purposes. If this activity isn’t illegal, it should be.”
