Hope For A New Day

Hope For A New Day

We’ve still got miles to go, but here’s more news of how far we’ve come:

“In 1993, just seven states had felony animal cruelty laws; today, all but four do.” [...] “In 2000, nine law schools had animal law studies. Today, about 100 do.” (source)

“For the first time in decades, the chicken industry is in decline.” (source)

“LA is cracking down, not only on the arrest of animal abusers, but now on their prosecution as well” (source)

And remember these?

“2008 per capita [meat] consumption stands to be at the lowest point in seven years” (source)

“[Americans] have become less accepting of medical testing on animals, and the use of animal fur for clothing” (source)

“A quarter of Americans say animals deserve the same rights as humans, while almost all of the rest agree that animals should be given some protection from harm and exploitation.” (source)
