The blogger at Hezbollah Tofu is a hilarious writer. Even nonvegans can appreciate her humor. Bourdain's comment is ridiculous and very NOT funny. Here's the Hezbollah Tofu blog's backstory: http://hezbollahtofu.blogspot.com/2008/02/no-reservations-but-plenty-of.html

I had a discussion with someone the other day about Bourdain's inanities. Drawing from his ridiculous assertion that "vegan’s represent all that is wrong...", I claimed: "Vegans are truly concerned with reducing unnecessary suffering and preventing the enslavement of the kinds of beings who have interests, most fundamentally to not be in pain, that matter to them. Now, does that sound like we represent what is wrong with X or everything that is right with X?"

Suffice it to say, this once defender of Bourdain was forced by reason to reconsider his affection and he admitted as much.

~ Recent blog post: <a href="http://www.not-quiteright.net/tvg/2008/09/vegfriendly-really.html" rel="nofollow">Vegfriendly, really?</a> at http://www.not-quiteright.net/tvg ~
