  1. Gary Yourofsky is a passionate speaker in defense of nonhuman animals. It is said that many students go vegan on the spot after hearing his speeches.

I encourage everyone to watch the videos above and the others available on his YouTube page: http://www.youtube.com/user/xgbdesign

Also check out his organization, ADAPTT, as there is a wealth of information on veganism and animal rights: http://www.adaptt.org/

    Thanks for spreading the word!

  2. Wow. I have never seen anyone talk like that before to a bunch of non-vegans. It was kind of scary watching it because I was just wondering how reactive the audience would be. This guy sounds like a preacher. Personally, I could never be so confrontational; however, I won’t judge him for doing so… I’d like to see how he would respond to those who respond to him. O_O

I’ve heard most of these ideas before, but I really liked the part where he compares the burning of an animal to the burning of the Bible or a flag… only thing is, I don’t care about the Bible or flags myself… I hope the people in that room were mostly Christian so it actually meant something to them.

  3. Louche,

I agree that Gary Yourofsky’s speaking style is like a preacher; this is a good thing in my opinion, because it moves the listener and calls them to take action!

Yourofsky also has a growing group on Facebook started by a student whose life was changed after hearing him speak:

  4. I don’t have a problem with preachers.
I like straightforward, honest people who stand up for what they believe in… even when I disagree with them.
    Maybe that’s just me.

  5. Well, I didn’t mean to say it was a bad thing, but I don’t often hear people talk like that. I just personally would not speak like that.

Brandon, thanks for the links. From the comments he is obviously successful with a lot of people. Those are just the positive comments, though.
