Four Simple Paths To Online Activism

Four Simple Paths To Online Activism

Here are four animal activism ideas that you can do easily online from the comfort of your home or favorite cafe.

You can do more, if you want, but these are ideas to get you started.

This is web activism and it’s a great way to spread the word about veganism and/or animal rights.

  1. Blog! Write about your favorite vegan recipe or about an upcoming vegan event. Write about animal rights or welfare. Post pictures and videos about veganism. Recommend your favorite vegan cookbooks. Link to other vegan blogs and websites.
  2. Vlog! Make video blogs about cooking vegan foods or participating in animal rights demonstrations. Video blog about your thoughts on animal issues. Collect images of tasty vegan food and set those images to music. Do interviews with other vegans or animal people. Start video memes and trends about animal rights and veganism.
  3. Comment! Leave comments on other people’s blogs with information and links to animal rights websites, facts, and videos. Leave comments with recipes for vegan food. When people blog against animal rights and veganism, say something! Leave a comment letting them know what you think. Likewise, support vegan and animal rights blogs by commenting. They like your feedback :)
  4. Collect! Make collections of links, videos, and books. Post those collections on blogs, web forums, chat, email signatures, community profiles, video descriptions, or anywhere you can post some information online.

  1. Another good idea, as I’m sure you know, is to send a letter to the editor (via e-mail) to newspapers that run pro-AR pieces (telling them you liked it) or anti-AR pieces (correcting the misinformation and hate, etc.).

Doesn’t take long. Just remember to keep them less than 200 words and include your name, address and daytime phone number (so they can verify you wrote the e-mail).

  2. Excellent point, Tracy. Thank you.
