Activism: Food Photo Films

Vegan food montage – a food celebration!

These are all foods that I actually ate. They are all vegan. They are all free of animal products: no meat, no poultry, no fish, no dairy, no eggs, no honey. Some are from restaurants, some are from the store, and some are from my kitchen :)

I made this video because many nonvegans have no idea what vegans eat. They have all kinds of unfounded assumptions about vegan food: some think all we eat are salads, others think we eat tons and tons of soy, others think we never ever eat sugar… the list of of myths gos on and on.

The truth is, we all eat differently. Some vegans are raw vegans and don’t eat cooked food. Other vegans are “junk food vegans” and eat lots of processed foods, sugar, and salt. Most vegans are somewhere in between.

I made this video using One True Media. It’s very easy to make videos there. But the best part is that they have a collection of songs you can use without worrying about copyright and whatnot. If you’re like me, you don’t have many songs suitable for food celebraion videos sitting on your computer. And it’s all totally free!

So… I think this is a great form of activism. Just upload your photos of vegan food (or animal advocacy images), set it to music, and send to YouTube or Vimeo to share.

Clearly, others have done this before me and it’s not a new idea. But maybe it’s new to you? There’s plenty of room for more vegan voices. The more, the better. Share your food photos today!
