Oh yeah, that was it, free range chicken broth. Thanks for remembering :)

I tried to leave a comment at her blog on that post, but it timed out. There are a TON of comments already. So I thought maybe I'd send her an email of encouragement and suggest a few resources. If anyone else wants to do the same, her email is dooce at dooce dot com.

Actually, it was free range chicken broth. And she was making fun of her extremely religious, right wing parents and their insistence that she buy free range chicken broth for various reasons. And she got a lot of flak from idiots who were ranting about how free range prevents suffering, and didn't she know that!

I was shocked too. I love her muchly, for various reasons, and when I read this it cemented me love. She's also gotten so much hate mail for making the choice (even for a short time), so I hope she's getting equal love mail from vegans and veggies.

I'm honestly shocked by this. It's great news, but I'm completely shocked. I remember reading a post she wrote a year or two ago where she joked about free range turkey and made fun of both animals and animal people.

She's proving that people can change. She's proving that people care. She's reinvigorated my optimism. This is fantastic news.
