Becoming vegan really got me into cooking. Before I was just a wannabe but now I can actually cook (that stupid meat & dairy was holding me back). Now I have a full blown cookbook addiction. I've had to scale back the buying and focus on actually saving my money. I am always up for a new vegan cookbook. I love cooking and use all of my cookbooks very frequently. :)

Thanks for the fun contest!

i already have a nice collection of vegan cookbooks, but only one i have is geared toward baking and it's very specialized (vegan cupcakes take over...). baking is probably my favorite type of cooking and though i love "vegan cupcakes..." i'd love own a cookbook that covers baking more broadly! also, i want to share my vegan baked good with everyone!

yup, even the most dedicated omnivores do not refuse and thoroughly enjoy my vegan chocolate cake, pumpkin pie, banana bread etc. etc. ... it opens people up to vegan food when words fail

I would love this cookbook. My girlfriend and I are vegetarian(leaning towards veganism). I do all the cooking and she does the baking. I would love to surprise her with this. *Fingers crossed.

i would like to use the cookbook because it has so many delicious recipes (i cooked the vegan lemon squares) and can i just say delicious sweet treats can go a long way towards convincing people than veganism is a viable option. bring on the converts!!!

Vegan Baking is good for you,
too many cookies?, it just ain't true.
A little flour, a little yeast,
there's no denying it'll be a feast!.
Give some to friends to show you care,
they may just shreek, we love your fare!

Sprinkle some chocolate, a spoonful of sugar,
you'll make grandma say I want more rugala!,
A cup of tea, a slice of cake,
a new convert to vegan you'll make,
Good food is special, when friends are around,
fresh baked is best, where loved ones abound.

Most of all, we love that it's fun,
eating this way, no harm was done,
Why bake with lard, why bake with eggs,
it's all about time, we made a pledge,
Today we can say, a new day is born!!
it's time for change!!, it's a brand new dawn!!!.

[...] Vegan Soapbox: Cookbook Contest: Win A Vegan Cookbook “Leave a comment here describing why you’d like a free vegan cookbook. Maybe you want a vegan cookbook so you can cook something tasty for your vegan partner. Maybe you want a vegan cookbook so you can try out vegan recipes and cut back your meat consumption. Maybe you want a vegan cookbook because even though you’re vegan, you don’t know how to cook. Whatever the reason, everyone should have a vegan cookbook! The prize cookbook is The Joy of Vegan Baking: The Compassionate Cooks’ Traditional Treats and Sinful Sweets by Colleen Patrick-Goudreau. I recently bought a copy for myself and I’ve tried a couple recipes. I like the easy to follow directions, the photos, and the flavors. I think you’ll enjoy the cookbook, too.” [...]

I would love to get this vegan cookbook because my mother, who is not a vegan or a vegetarian, has recently discovered a love for baking. She's always feeling bad because she makes delicious treats but I can't eat them because of the ingredients. If I won this book I'd deliver it straight to my mom so that not only will she bake something deliciously vegan for me... but maybe she'll use it more often for her and my dad, using less eggs and dairy in the long run.

<abbr><em>~ Recent blog post: <a href="http://www.toliveandeatinla.com/2009/homegirl-cafe/" rel="nofollow">Homegirl Cafe: Sandwiches not Jail!</a> ~</abbr></em>

I would like to recieve this book to give it to someone else. I have several good friends, one a new vegetarian and one who hosts social networking tea parties, if I could give this to one of them I would be impacting even more people in my day. I have this cookbook and love it and would like to easily share the inspiration with them.

Thank you
