Control-Alt-Delete

I was watching Fox News this morning (guilty pleasure, sue me) and they had a segment called “reboot your diet.” The concept was really cute so I’m going to share it (as best as I can remember):
health

To lose weight and/or get healthier in 2010, it’s as easy as Control-Alt-Delete. To reboot your diet, do the following:

  1. Control your portion sizes. Read the labels and learn what is a “serving size” and then limit servings based on the nutritional data provided. You can’t just look at a bowl of cereal and guess that it’s half a cup, you should actually measure it.
  2. Alternatives are available for high calorie meat items. Take a look at your average meal plate and remove some (or better yet, all) of the meat. Replace it with lower calorie veggies or lower calorie meat alternatives.
  3. Delete the excess sugary sweets and other nutritionally deficient foods in your home. Leftover fattening foods from the holidays need to go. Just dump em!
