A waffle party is simply a social event where vegan waffles are served, preferably hot off the iron, with delicious toppings. It can involve just a
few friends, or dozens of guests. The only requirements are a waffle maker (which you can easily borrow or purchase used), a vegan waffle recipe,
waffle making ingredients, and some friends who are willing to bring vegan waffle toppings. Other elements, such as beverages, decorations, and so on, are totally up to you.

Several features make this a particularly impactful event.

First, providing guests with the opportunity to bring toppings allows them to participate on a deeper level, even if they have little or no experience with vegan cooking. A topping is an easier commitment than a full-fledged dish. A small container of fresh fruit, or peanut butter mixed with vegan chocolate, will do the trick. Of course, guests with vegan cooking expertise can still showcase their complex homemade concoctions.

Secondly, there remains a great lack of awareness that baked goods can be made without animal products—waffles can help to change this.

Finally, waffles are relatively inexpensive and easy to make, and serving someone a hot waffle baked just for them can be a great way to connect.
