Becoming A Witness
The website, Final Nail, asks:
“Have you ever seen a slaughterhouse? Chances are there’s one close to where you live. Or take a road trip and visit a fur farm.”
I’ll be honest, I haven’t. I’ve driven by feedlots and smelled the stink of too many animals crowded into too small a space. But I’ve never gone to a slaughterhouse.
Anyone who eats animals should witness first-hand the animal’s death.
Anyone who can’t stomach animal slaughter shouldn’t eat animals.*
If you’re curious what animal industries are near you, you can

Another website, Primate Labs, says that their site:
“features news, commentary, information, and other resources to help educate the public and assist grassroots activists in the fight against cruel and unnecessary primate experimentation.”
They have a video section, essays, and a directory of labs.
The information is available. It’s up to each of us what we do with it.

*Of course, I don’t think anyone should eat animals. It’s just that people who have witnessed or participated in animal slaughter are better informed on the matter and have made a truly educated “choice” to eat animals. The majority of people who eat animals are ill-informed or deluded.

Thanks for the Final Nail Web site. What a resource! I had no idea there were so many near me.

Why would I go to a slaughterhouse if I’m already a vegan? That sounds like torture and wouldn’t accomplish anything. But if I could convince at least one omnivore to come along with me, it would be worth it.
Hi Nick,
If you can’t find a willing non-vegan to come with, you could bring a camera instead. Just a thought
