Anti-Vegan Trolls

Anti-Vegan Trolls

Taking a cue from Jill at Feministe, I thought I’d share one of the common types of anti-vegan troll comments we receive around here:

Pigs are funny creatures.
I love the way they taste! Bacon, Pork Chops, Pork Roast…”

These comments violate our Discussion Policy, which prohibits anti-animal and anti-human discussion, for example, no pro-meat, pro-dairy, pro-eggs, pro-hunting, or other anti-animal discussion. And no racist, sexist, homophobic, ageist, abilist or otherwise hateful comments.

I have a request similar to the one Jill made.

Dear Trolls, Please try to make your obnoxious, hate-infested spew a little more witty and interesting. We’ve heard from the ignorant, pissed-off meat-eater about a million times already. You could at least try to impersonate someone who doesn’t think books are for propping up wobbly tables. Thank you.

  1. Why people who are so painfully ill-equipped would wish to engage in an intellectual battle astounds me.

  2. They just want to hurt us. They like to push buttons and poke fun at vegans. They get off on being mean. They are bullies.

  3. I troll some of the meat & animal industry sites – and I can tell you beyond a doubt, they are just as ignorant and ill equipped to carry on intellectual conversations amongst themselves – let alone with a group that has actually done some thinking about the issues.

Let’s face it, they haven’t got an ethical (or intellectual) leg to stand on…
