2010: Year Of Vegan Option

Ecorazzi called 2010 “Year Of The Vegan Option” and says:

“With Starbucks offering vegan snacks, 7-11 trying out vegan junk food, Chipotle grilling up vegan meat and Disney World rocking vegan cupcakes, 2010 has been the year of the vegan option. What’s next on the roster? We think it’s finally time that Subway listen to Compassion Over Killing’s advice and add faux meat to their menu. I’ll tell you this, we’d eat a lot more Subway!”

Having myself just recently experienced the special vegan menus at Wynn Casino & Hotel on Las Vegas Boulevard, I can agree that 2010 did seem like a year with more businesses adding vegan options.

It’s good for us vegans, it’s good for people who eat vegan part-time, and it’s GREAT for animals!

  1. What a year for me to start eating vegan! I felt so lucky to see so many options…and to read great sites like yours, which truly mentored me along the way.

    Happy New Year!

  2. Not into the idea about being a “part-time vegan”, its like saying i’m a part-time smoker, or i could never use slaves all the time. Still glad to know there are more vegan options being sold at eateries

  3. Actually most Starbucks locations have done away with the vegan Lucy’s cookies reportedly due to low sales… Sad times.

They weren’t the best vegan cookies ever though either. They’d do better to carry Alternative Baking Company or Liz Lovely… Much tastier.

Or they could have vegan treats within their own line of foods….
